[edit] Alexz Johnson Picture
Thanks for uploading a picture of Alexz Johnson, and for releasing it into the public domain.
The article really needed a picture, and this is a good one. She comes across as a person of energy and intelligence.

[edit] More on the Alexz Johnson Picture
I see that there has been some back-and-forth on the picture and that currently there is no picture in the article. I think that your picture is the best one so far, and it's licenced for the public domain. The only problem is that it has a logo at the bottom of it, which raises two difficulties: (1) it could look like an ad for the originating site; and (2) people may assume that it is copyrighted, despite the licence info they can get by clicking on it.
I would suggest removing the logo and putting the relevant information in a caption (e.g., "Photo by . . . ), and then putting the photo out on an Attribution ShareAlike licence (one of the Creative Commons licences), with the condition that it can be freely used - but with attribution - in derivative works (basically by including the caption).
If you do this, I will make a point of ensuring that the picture stays in the article, which will probably mean many reversions and re-insertions. The article needs a picture, and this is a good one.
Please reply here or on my Talk page.

[edit] Keeping the Alexz Johnson Picture
Thanks for your reply!
Yes, I'll do what I can to keep the picture in the article.
For your information, we will also have -- further down the line -- photos from Epitome Pictures, the producers of Instant Star. I have been in touch with Stephen Stohn, who co-produces the show with his wife, Linda Schuyler, and he will help in arranging the necessary licences.
Ideally, I'd like to have several pictures in the article (and in the Instant Star article, which needs further work). Your picture is excellent, and it should stay in. I'll do what I can to make sure it stays in. You should also see who else you can enlist in this, as there is strength in numbers.
I'll also get back to working on the article. I havn't done much on it for some time, because things have been so busy at work. But I should be able to get more information from Epitome Pictures, now that the link has been established. I'll keep you au courant on this.
If Alexz gets a Gemini award, that should generate some additional information and references that can be picked up in the article, augmented by possible news on companies and timelines for her solo album.

[edit] Copyright Status of Alexz Johnson Picture
I see that the copyright status of the picture has been challenged. This happens to lots of pictures on the Wikipedia.
If you have a high-resolution version of the picture, it would be best to upload that, since that is a good indication that the picture is yours. The high-resolution picture can then be thumbnailed to fit into the article (but can be expanded by clicking on it).
You should probably include a caption and some source information, if only your initials and the city. In that case, you might want to release it under an Attribution ShareAlike licence, since that gives you some credit for it.

I've been trying to sort out the copyright challenge. Here's the correspondence on this (click on the following):

I also added a caption to the photo. Please correct as necessary.

[edit] Potential Deletion of Picture
Just a reminder that while this problem is quiescent right now, we can't assume that it has gone away; it could resurface at any point.
All we need to clear this up is a high resolution version of the picture - or better yet, a version with metadata (e.g., time/date stamp or file size indicated) - to prove that you are the rights holder for this picture. Failing some additional proof, suspicion may prevail, and the deletion process may proceed.
The picture is a nice addition to the article, and it would be great to keep it there!
PS: When people from Wikipedia write you a note, you should answer or at least acknowledge it. That the way things are done around here!

I have been in touch with Epitome Pictures, who have confirmed that they will be providing properly licenced images for the article.
