Talk:Donald Harington
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On 22 April 2008, I made extensive revisions and additions to this page, including the following items:
- Notes on Harington's impending retirement, from the University of Arkansas, and on the manuscript for Enduring having been completed, and thus "forthcoming." He confirmed these events to me in an e-mail in March 2008.
- Correction of misspellings, and rewordings for clarity and to avoid abrupt writing.
- A note and link regarding The Toby Press having released Harington's entire novel backlist (and Let Us Build Us a City) in a uniform edition, all with cover illustrations by Wendell Minor, whose work had appeared earlier on several books.
- Several book titles have been corrected to match the titles as they are used at the Toby Press site. (Including the unconventionally punctuated, and nearly always incorrectly cited, Some other Place. The Right Place.)
- A link to an article about Harington's themes, techniques, and cultural background, originally published in 1996 in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (Little Rock).
I believe that these items justify the article being listed as "Start-class," rather than "Stub-class," in the WikiProject Biography ratings, and have changed that rating accordingly, although a narrative article remains sorely necessary for this notable American regional author. - Greybird (talk) 01:29, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
