Donte Charles is a character in the TV series Waterloo Road, who is portrayed by Adam Thomas.

Donte was seen in the first episode with his girlfriend Chlo Grainger. At the end of the episode he was (illegally) driving his father's car when he crashed it into a lorry, killing his friend Adam Deardon and leaving Holly Tattersall in a coma for several weeks. Chlo (who suffered a broken arm in the crash) tried to blame herself when Donte was the one driving under the influence of alcohol (though not over the drink-driver limit), but Chlo was mainly responsible as she climbed over him and temporarily obscured his vision of the road.
Donte spent three months on remand before being found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving, and received an 18-month suspended sentence.
Donte married Chlo in the first episode of Series 3, but their marriage was put on the rocks when she slept with her sister's boyfriend Brett Aspinall and Donte caught them. Chlo ran away and did not return for two weeks.
He and Chlo have not got back together, and Donte is now in a relationship with Celine Dixon. However, he did rescue her from the smoke-filled toilets at the end of the series, when deranged Stuart Hordley started a fire at the school. Tom Clarkson (Chlo's stepfather) helped Donte in the rescue.
