Dongbei University of Finance and Economics

Dongbei University of Finance & Economics (DUFE) (东北财经大学) is a state (provincial) level university in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China.
Located in the southwest of metropolitan Dalian and originally established in 1952 as Dongbei Institute of Finance & Economics (东北财经学院), it is one of Dalian's oldest modern universities. Today DUFE is among the top finance and economics universities in China.
DUFE offers diverse programs in Economics, Management, Law, Arts, and Science, with its curricular focus on economics and management. Its full-time academy comprises 31 undergraduate majors, 54 masters programs, and 34 doctoral programs including MBA, MPA, MPAcc, J.M., etc.. There are 29 schools, departments and centers campuswide, and 'Kingbridge Business College of DUFE (东北财经大学津桥商学院) situated in the Dalian Development Zone.
As of 2006, DUFE hosts 843 faculty members and 12,494 full-time undergraduate and graduate students. DUFE is well-known for its students' high employment rate (over 95%) upon graduation. It is one of the most desired universities in Liaoning with highly competitive admission requirements.
DUFE's International Education Center facilitates students' studies in English; as part of the Center, Surrey International Institute, DUFE (东北财经大学萨里国际学院) offers masters and undergraduate exchange programs with University of Surrey, UK. Networked with foreign students, its participants at home are afforded the access to international perspectives. With the 2002 addition of School of International Business (SIB) (东北财经大学国际商学院), the list has grown to include 13 exchange programs with 9 universities in 6 countries (the UK, Germany, Korea, Japan, Canada, Australia, Ireland and Austria). The DUFE academy's cooperative relations with 59 foreign universities bring in hundreds of students from over 30 countries each year.
Dalian's current mayor Xia Deren is an alumnus, former president and guest professor of DUFE.
