Donald N. “Red Dog” Ettinger (born November 29, 1921) is a former American football player. A native of Kansas, Ettinger played for the Kansas Jayhawks and later the NFL's New York Giants.
Ettinger is sometimes credited for inventing the “blitz” strategy.
