[edit] What the conference aims to do?
• Create general awareness about the potential for socially responsible businesses and organisations
• Challenge student ideas on responsible business
• Share experiences and insights of socially responsible endeavours
• Encourage students to consider career options in responsible business in the short and longer term
• Foster relationships between industry professionals and MBA students from around the world
The conference is aimed to find outstanding stories or experiences from those people out in the field that demonstrate how business or management approaches are enabling progress in tackling some of the world’s most complex problems such as rampant poverty, environmental damage, increasingly complex and widespread illnesses and diseases to name just a few. Many organizations and businesses are making in-roads to solving these through either for profit structures or not for profit but with business approaches such as clearly evident social return for investment. This means that business is playing an increasingly significant role in this arena. We want to expose students to these stories, challenge their thinking and hopefully inspire them to contribute in some way in the future.
