The Dogue de Bordeaux is not a breed to be taken lightly, and is not the breed for everyone. Please do your research before obtaining a dogue. Although they are the ultimate in home protection and are wonderful family dogs, they can also be very challenging and obstinant, as well as they take a firm owner who is as strong minded as the breed itself. It is better to be well educated and able to handle your dogue, rather than not be prepared, and end up giving the dogue away to rescue.
