[edit] What US Special forces?

As far as I am aware there were no US Special Forces in Dog Soldiers. Ryan was a Captain in the SAS and the the Special Forces team that was killed were all SAS.

  • I seem to remember that the squad were supposed to be in 'training manoeuvres' but i don't think it was mentioned who the other participants were.. but since we only saw the remains of Ryan's camp we assumed thats all the opposition were, and to be fair thats all that was intended in to original movie... but this just helps shoehorn in Americans with guns.. ala 'Aliens' I fear.--MRNasher 19:41, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I have just watched the film. The whole point was that there was NO other team. The squad was there purely as bait to attract the werewolf (which turned out to be werewolves) so that Ryan's SAS could capture it. This would destroy the entire premise of the first film, unless they could convincingly make it so that Ryan was lying just to be vindictive...how do we contact the director and point out how terrible this sequel is going to be? (20:19, 06th June 2007, if it in fact matters)

[edit] Any need for that line?

'Armed to the teeth with modern warfare technology'? - it sort of implies that the british soldiers lacked it in the last film. No real need for the line. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.48.73.94 (talk) 11:16, 28 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Is this film really happening?

This film has been described as being in pre-production since June 2005. Not sure how that squares with claim in Canadian horror mag that it "was filming, but stopped until the autumn". In the absence of any confirmation that it's happening, how can we possibly have three paragraphs of plot? Telsa (talk) 17:27, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Film's production is "up in the air" at best. Listing of film has been removed from the film production company's website: Kismetent.com. Also, listing has been removed from IMDB.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CaptainBringdown (talkcontribs) 23:29, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia's definition of "speculation"

Before this gets silly, perhaps the adder of the "there are two possible plot lines" discussion could read these quotes and the articles they come from:

  • "Wikipedia does not publish original research or original thought. This includes unpublished facts, arguments, speculation, and ideas" - WP:OR.
  • "Wikipedia is not a collection of unverifiable speculation. All articles about anticipated events must be verifiable" - WP:FUTURE
  • "The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material. All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged should be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation." - WP:PROVEIT (sub-section of WP:V)
  • "Articles should rely on reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" - WP:RS

There is absolutely no way that a discussion of two future possibilities, completely unreferenced except for a claim on my talk page that "the second has been confirmed by the director" (so why include the first at all?) is anything but speculation. Until this film is released - or a shooting script, or a film novelisation, or something - there's no way to know the plot. But I shall continue to remove any unreferenced plot when I see it. As for references, so far the only reference for the article is the upcominghorrorfilms URL. Which is such a carefully-written site that it spells the thing Dog Soliders.
