Document Freedom Day

Document Freedom Day (DFD) is a day designed to "raise awareness about document freedom"[1] "on the last Wednesday of March"[2]. Document Freedom Day was first celebrated on March 26, 2008.

According to Ars Technica, more than "200 groups in 60 countries" are actively involved in DFD[3].

According to its website, DFD's main goals [for the year 2008] are:

  • promotion and adoption of free document formats
  • forming a global network
  • coordination of activities that happen on 26th of March, Document Freedom Day[4]
