Doctors to Be

Doctors to Be is an occasional series on BBC television that has followed the life of a group of doctors starting from medical school and showing how they are fare in the trials and tribulations of medical training and a career as a doctor. The current update - Doctors to Be : 20 years on - is showing on BBC Four. The previous series were shown on BBC Two.

Sarah Martindale – an anaesthetist who lives in Bristol.

Jane Gilbert – a doctor who became an Agony Aunt when she thought she couldn't cope with a family and be a doctor.

Will Liddell – a GP who runs one of the biggest polyclinics in the UK.

Ese Stacey – a private GP who specialises in sports medicine and consultancy.

David Copping – a GP who joined the speciality before it became the slightly more high-profile job it is today.

Mark George – a private consultant colorectal surgeon who gave up a lot of his life outside the job to get to the highly paid position he is in today.

Fey Probst – she was already a mother of four before she went into medicine and could only study after having put her children to bed, but now qualified; she is an A&E consultant.

John – a healthcare manager who started the process of becoming a doctor at the age of 28, he took his time to find a speciality that suited him; but has now settled in healthcare management.
