Docking and Stowage Module
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Docking and Stowage Module (DSM) was a planned Russian element of the International Space Station that provided facilities for stowage and additional docking ports. The Docking and Stowage Module would have been used for additional stowage and to support Soyuz docking, and would have been launched to the International Space Station on a Proton launch vehicle.
The DSM would have been mounted to the Zarya module's nadir (Earth-facing) docking port. It is similar in size and shape to the Zarya module.
This ISS module was cancelled due to budget constraints by Russia. Briefly a Multi Purpose Module (MPM) called Enterprise was considered to replace it, but it will now be the location for the Multipurpose Laboratory Module.
