Doña Juanita (diminutive of Juana) is a name used for the average Chilean, and specially the older women from the countryside. The name is often used in interviews with politicians, for example a typical question is: "How would you explain that to Doña Juanita?" (¿Como le diria eso a doña Juanita?). President Ricardo Lagos used the name during his 21th May speech in 2004.
