Details: ID: DNSD0502335 Service Depicted: Multi-National 040712N4304S152 Operation / Series: RIMPAC 2004 Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Able Seaman, Communications Specialist, Natalie Haumu, retrieves a signal flag, aboard the RAN DURANCE CLASS: Underway Replenishment Tanker, Her Majestys Australian Ship (HMAS) SUCCESS (OR 304), as the ship begins a Refuel At Sea (RAS) operation with the US Navy (USN) ARLEIGH BURKE CLASS: (Flight I), Guided Missile Destroyer, USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53) (underway background), while participating in Exercise RIMPAC 2004. RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise conducted in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands, and is designed to enhance the tactical proficiency of participating units in a wide array of combined operations at sea, while enhancing stability in the Pacific Rim region.
