[edit] Away

I'm back at Uni (and Work!) now, so my appearances here are going to be sporadic. If really necessary, check the Contact Page[1] on my Student Webspace. I read my email religiously.

[edit] Bio

I'm a 5th year Science/Engineering Double Degree student, studying at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. If you really want more, check out my RMITCS Student Webspace[2], although apart from my .plan there isn't much there either.

[edit] Edits and Editing Policy

I've made lots of small minor ones, most made before I created this account. I am a self-confessed language nazi, and although I frequently correct errors here and in real life I don't hold against people. Mostly.

I also unbowdlerize profanity (only where the profanity is necesssary) in keeping with WP:Profanity [3]

I often edit to ensure that articles are consistent internationally and don't terms with ambiguous meanings across different English speaking countries. Some of my particular pet peeves:

  • "Chips" as food (Potato chips? Fries? Crisps?)
  • "Football" (Soccer? Aussie Rules? Gridiron?)
  • "Gas" (is that the state of matter or the liquid petroleum? or liquid petroleum gas?)
  • "College" (University? Place of residence? Both? Secondary School?)
  • Amounts in "dollars" (is that Australian, American or Canadian?)

[edit] Rant #1

It's really just a Gerontocracy.
