David Julian Gray (b. 1953, New York City) is a musician, musicologist and audio technologist notable for his pioneering work in the revitalization of the klezmer music tradition, audio restoration, digital audio production methodologies and databases of audio content.

Gray first achieved notice as the original clarinetist of the seminal klezmer group The Klezmorim. Although primarily a performer, Gray had some training in academic musicology and the musicological needs of The Klezmorim's work led him to seek computerized tools for restoration of old 78 records, content analysis, and databases of audio content. He became a gadfly in the San Francisco area's burgeoning computer music community of the late 1970's and early 1980's and this led to work with early adopters of digital audio production and audio restoration. In 1996 National Public Radio called upon Gray to convert their production to all digital. He currently holds serves as NPR's Senior Architect for Content Production, leads the klezmer band Klezcentricity and consults in the broadcast and recording industries on audio content archiving and restoration.
