[edit] Early Days

DJ Down South, born Chris Ervin, is known as one of the the best and dedicated emcee's on the internet today.

DJ Down South started out in June 18, 1997 going to a park in his neighborhood called state street park where there was known gang activity. At his young age he strived to be the best at all that he did, weather it was sports or just winning an argument he always strived to come out on top and this feature would prove a good mentality later in life. Anyways back to the park, since 1997 he went to that park with his bike and would watch the older kids do the usual, but every day at about 6 o' clock they would do something he didn’t quite understand, they would all group together and someone would beatbox and they would all take turns freestyling. he was quite amazed because although he listens to rappers such as 2pac, Rakim, TLC, and Bone Thugs -N- Harmony he never seen anyone rap in person. after about a year and a half of watching them he decided to give it a try. But he would not freestyle, every night he would write in a 100 sheet notebook and rap it the next day. They were instantly amazed at his rapping, they would never use the same beat and would always tell him, "Man! that sounded like you knew what beat he was gunna do." he didn’t see rap as a spare time activity but as an art-form...an art-form that he was dying to perfect.

[edit] DJ Down South and Tightbeatz.com

DJ Down South loved the internet and saw it as a spare time deal, if he wasent writing rhymes in his book, he

was on the internet. He never mixed anything with rap, it was always a solo thing for him. Then on January 31, 2005 he found Tightbeatz.com and was instantly liked. At the time he dident have a mic so he made beats. He made good beats and was getting better by the minute and had people waiting for his next beat to come out. Soon he found a mic, it was $10 from wal-mart. The next few months went by and he was steady seeing a name on tightbeatz, Project X, which concisted of...ill C, Y Man, and One Man Team. They came out with a song called Wal-Mart Brand and he decided right then an there he was going to make southern rap music. He finally got a hold of Project X as a fan and told them how he enjoyed theyre music. Not four days after that he was asked to join Project X.

[edit] Project X

Project X soon after the joining of DJ Down South had to let go of Ill C and Y man due to inactivity.

2 Weeks after the joining of DJ Down South, One Man Team had an idea for a hit song. Quit Talkin' was released after 3 days of production. With Both Emcee's going hard on the track Quit Talkin' hit the charts within the hour. But what would the rap game be without haters. Soon a hater came along and hit it off the charts with a bad rating. After that Project X came out with hit after hit such as...Cost to be the boss, Cant Be Like Me, and the smash hit Throwin' up them X's.
