DJ Sakin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
DJ Sakin (real name Sakin Bozkurt) is a German dance music producer, remixer and DJ. Bozkurt started producing music and DJing in 1990.
Chart success came in 1999 under the name DJ Sakin & Friends, a DJ troupe consisting of, amongst others, Torsten Stenzel. "Protect Your Mind (For The Love Of A Princess)" was #4 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1999, and went to #3 in Germany, reaching gold status. The track heavily sampled James Horner's "Braveheart" from the film of the same name.
The follow up single was "Nomansland (David's Song)", reaching #14 in the UK Singles Chart in June 1999. Again the track heavily samples classical music, this time the work of Romanian composer Vladimir Cosma.
Bozkurt has been resident in the clubs Wartburg and Stonsenspliel (both Wiesbaden) and The MusicHall (Frankfurt). Since July 2003 he has run Joules Bookings, an international DJ and producer agency.
According to his declaration of illiquidity (the so called Eidesstattliche Versicherung in Germany) he is bankrupt since 23 September 2005.[citation needed]
