A dive bomb, also sometimes known as a screamer or "guitar squeel" , is a guitar noise produced using a tremolo. By pushing the tremolo arm down, the strings' tension will reduce, causing them to hang loose.
When the arm is released, the strings go back to their original position, producing a sound similar to the one of a bomb.
It is especially used by many bands during live performances.
The dive bomb has been used often by guitar players such as Dimebag Darrell, Eddie Van Halen and K.K. Downing
