[edit] Your job to fix Vancouver page's title

Since you buggered it, that is. All placename titles in Wiki should have a comma between the location/city and their province/state; you may follow Christ by God's relentlessness, but in your holiness you made a major error in thinking that you were reducing confusion by your name change; the "other uses" including all the electoral districts now aren't mentioned in the subheading, only Vancouver, Washington. Did you read the document on title changes before you made the change? Did you go through all the thousands of pages which link to Vancouver and now should link to Vancouver, British Columbia or - ooops your bad - Vancouver British Columbia? No? Then you shouldn't have made the change as all that other stuff has to be done TOO as part of the process.

I've made the page you created into a redirect to the proper Vancouver, British Columbia and also posted a heads-up on WikiProject Vancouver; ACK actually I can't do that without consulting the WikiProject Group and also the main Wiki editors/supervisors because if I make the change to the with-comma version, there's links to be fixed - oh, but that's not my problem, but yours. Please do not make other kinds of changes like this without knowing what you're doing. It makes TOO MUCH WORK for other people who DO know what they are doing. Washing your hands of your sins and letting other people clean up the mess can result in some pretty relentless responses......Skookum1 17:44, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

I reverted this change.

First of all, the page you created at Vancouver was just a fork of the existing Vancouver (disambiguation), so I copied your version onto that page (they were very similar).

Also Vancouver British Columbia isn't a standard title at all, a comma would be required.

If you wish to propose moving the title from Vancouver to Vancouver, British Columbia and moving Vancouver (disambiguation) to Vancouver, that could be done at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Some discussion could then take place and people could express their opinions and vote.

However, it's not really accurate to say "two large cities": one Vancouver is much larger than the other. When people talk about the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, there's not much doubt about which city is referred to.
