A highway sign in Saudi Arabia outside Mecca indicates the divergent paths available to Muslims versus non-Muslims. Only Muslims are allowed[1][2][3] in the Islamic holy city of Mecca.[4] Non-Muslims are likewise not allowed in the city of Medina.[5]. Those who who use fake certificates of Muslim identity (to enter) may be arrested and prosecuted by Saudi authorities.[6]
