The Principle of Displacement Chromatography is:
A Molecule with a high affinity for the chromatography matrix (the displacer) will compete effectively for bonding sites, and thus displace all molecules with lesser affinities.[1]
Displacement Chromatoraphy has several advanatages over the nonlinear elution technique, as well as the linear elution mode, such as the recovery of purified components at concentrations, less tailing during elution, high throughput and high resolution.
