Disodium octaborate tetrahydrate is a white, odorless, powdered chemical substance that is not flammable, combustible, or explosive and has low acute oral and dermal toxicity. It is used as an insecticide[1] and fungicide, and is commonly sold as an insecticide as "Tim-Bor", or "termite prufe" brands in the United States. It is a also a flame-retardant[2].
