Dishwater is a pop/rock band from Bornem, Belgium.
Several years after their formation, Dishwater already played a numerous of gigs in youth hostels, bars (e.g. Kinky Star in Ghent) and festivals in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2005 they played at Pukemarock, together with among others Gabriel Rios, Monza and Daan. They were the support act of Superdiesel, The Paranoiacs and Raymond van het Groenewoud.
Dishwater has won Kunstbende Mechelen back in 2004, was already to be seen on the news of the Belgian television broadcasting station VRT(één), has recorded a promo video for Centea Bank, was selected for Frappant and Studio Brussels Demopoll and was elected MySpace Talent Of The Week by CuttingEdge.be.
[edit] Background history
In the summer of 2001 three friends had the idea to establish that band. So they all three started to play different instruments in the same period: Joram took a classical guitar course at the local school of music, Shane got bass lessons from his brother and finally Mathias took a training course from the ex-drummer of the former famous Belgian band Mama's Jasje. As a native of Bornem, the present singer, Aäron Vanheede, returned to his place of birth after living in Spain for six years. The rehearsals, in the drummer's bedroom, started in August of 2002, the first songs were written and barely three months later they played their first gig. After the first demo from 2005, named "New Style", the new nameless demo is ready to be heard across the globe.
