Discovery Girls

Discovery Girls magazine is an American preteen magazine for girls ages 8 and up. Although the magazine features girls only ages 8 to 12; 13, 14 and 15-year-olds can also contribute to all of the magazines' features. The magazine features 12 girls from each state who are not professional models. Discovery Girls also covers the Canadian province of British Columbia. Discovery Girls' founding editor is Catherine Lee; who is also the Creative Art Director. The magazine's other contributors are: Sarah Verney, Ellen F. Pill, Jim Hale, Phoebe Kitanidis, and Naomi Kirsten. The two pages which features the 12 girls from each state are called "Profiles" in which the girls' photos are included along with their age, dream job/hobby, and a quote. Each issue usually contains 56 pages. Some of the magazines features are: "The Worst Day," "Embarrassing Moments," "Mailbag," and "Ask Ali," "Celebrity Interviews," and others. With the exception of Celebrity Interviews, most sections are contributed to by readers of the magazine. Some featured celebrities include : Alexa Vega, Dakota Fanning, Miley Cyrus, JoJo, Cheyenne Kimball, Miranda Cosgrove, and the stars of American Juniors.
