[edit] Relevance of animated picture

The animated picture in this article, while pretty, seems completely out of context: There is no explanation of how the motor actually starts or reference in the write-up to labels of relay KM1 and nothing about relay A1/A2. The write-up refers to the control circuitry running off 24 V but the diagram clearly shows a phase-to-phase voltage (L1/L2) in the control circuit. There is no explanation of how the latching of the relays works either (how does KM1 stay latched?)

The article does not explain "speed" reversal adequately. Neither by the wirteup nor the animation. Technically it is the direction which has reversed and not the speed. (Speed is a scalar and therefore has no direction.) I will make these latter changes, but am unsure how the animation should be explained. --Daleh T 10:13, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
