Dirk van Foreest

Dirk van Foreest (1862 - 1956) was a Dutch chess master.[1]


Elder brother of Arnold van Foreest, he thrice won Dutch Championship in 1885, 1886, and 1887.[2] He also took 5th at Gouda 1884 (NED-ch, Messemaker won), and took 2nd, behind Rudolf Loman, at Rotterdam 1888 (NED-ch).[3]
