Dipor Bil

Deepor Bil is a Ramsar list wetland of international importance, on south western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India.[1]
Deepor Beel supports some globally threatened species of birds like Spotbilled Pelican (Pelecanus philippensis), Lesser Adjutant Stork (Leptoptilos javanicus), Baer’s Pochard (Aythya baeri), Palas Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster), Greater Adjutant Stork (Leptoptilos dubius).[1] The Siberian crane (Grus leucogeranus) regularly migrates to this habitat on its annual journeys.

The National Highway-37 Jalukbari-Khanapara bypass is alongside the north western boundary of this beel. On the south eastern side is Assam Engineering College and the township of Jalukbari, on the outskirts of Guwahati.
