The Anguid lizard (Diploglossus lessonae) is a carnivorous species of lizard found in the north-eastern and south-eastern parts of Brazil. It is known in Brazil as the Briba.

They are a small lizard, growing to a length of about 30cm, and have a life span of roughly 10 years. Offspring are zebra patterned, with white and black stripes circling the body. Adults are brown, with a red/yellow coloured head and underside.
It is commonly found in semi-arid environments, scrub and low forests.
