[edit] Diodore & Nestorianism

This statement confuses me: "The Christology of Diodore was condemned as heretical by later generations, most explicitely at a local synod in Constantinople in 399 which described Diodore's views as Nestorian." What I don't understand is that Nestorius wasn't even in a position to express his views until 428, when he became Patriarch of Constantinople! I'm not sure what happened here: was the source misquoted, or was that source mistaken -- or was the synod somehow predict what would happen a generation later? -- llywrch 02:48, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I hadn't caught that. A one-number typo on my part put the synod into the wrong century. Fixed now (council was 499, not 399), the source was right, my eyes were wrong. Pastordavid 16:14, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
