Talk:Dinard
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Climate section is incorrect: The Gulfstream passes along the South coast of Brittany not in the Channel. Dinard's waters, like the rest of the north coast are well-known to be colder than the south. As for palm trees: they grow anywhere in Brittany, especially in the south, along the Morbihan culf.

Depends which Gulf Stream you are talking about - the one described in detail on Wikipedia certainly isn't restricted to the south coast of Brittany, in fact it goes all the way up to the West of Scotland. Dinard is well-known for its micro-climate, noticeably warmer than neighbouring Dinan. Other "hot-spots" in northern Brittany include the Ile de Batz, Carantec, Bréhat... I have a few other problems with this article. Who says Monet ever spent time in Dinard ? Which houses on the cliffs were built by ship-owners from St Malo ? Is somebody making this up or is there really some evidence that Hitchcock was inspired by a villa in Dinard for Psycho ? --Boulet rouge (talk) 13:33, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism
The section on "Visitors" has been vandalised recently to include non-existent people and a few real people whose connection with the town is probably fictitious and if not is certainly of no interest. I would be tempted to add some real stuff (Picasso painted here in the 1920s, Edward VII was a well-known figure at the casino before his mother died...) but if some idiot is going to mess about with it I don't think I'll bother.Boulet rouge (talk) 21:45, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
