Dinners Ready
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dinners Ready is a franchised meal preparation business based in Mukilteo, Washington, United States. Founded by Scott Farrar & Brad Vorhees in 2003, the business has 35 stores in the United States and Canada.
The company is part of a fast growing trend in the food industry, often referred to as Meal Assembly, where customers can attend a local meal preparation kitchen and assemble meals for freezing and cooking at home.[1]
Meal preparation businesses are growing rapidly in the US due to busy families wanting to promote healthier eating habits[2] and move away from fast food.[3] These types of businesses help parents put dinner on the table quickly.[4]
Customers are able to assemble meals themselves, or choose to have their staff do it for you. Meals serve two, four, or six people and there are sixteen choices, with the menu changing each month.
Dinners Ready used Starbucks as a model for the feel of its stores, wanting a casual and comfortable place for people to gather. Panera, a growing bakery cafe chain, also has a similar interior design model.[5]
