Digital booklet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Due to the rise in popularity of Online music stores, Digital booklets are being introduced to compensate for the absence of liner notes. They are supplied to the buyer in PDF and are included when an album is purchased. Most of the time the Digital booklet is not available for individual download but rather is included when the album in its entirety is purchased.
One of the first instances of such an innovation was in 2004 following the iTunes Store release of the U2 album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Whilst Digital booklets are viewable via iTunes, provided the user has a PDF viewer installed, they are not viewable with current iPod software but this minor issue is likely to be addressed as Digital booklets increase in circulation.
