Dietary indiscretion
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dietary indiscretion is the tendency or act, specifically by an animal, of eating items that should not be eaten. This includes modern manufactured items such as shiny metal foil or plastic objects, as well as foods harmful to health. Dietary indiscretion usually involves consumption of items not found in the animal's natural habitat.
Ostriches and sharks, as well as domestic dogs and goats, are animals with reputations for dietary indiscretion. Fictional portrayals of instances are often depicted as humorous, despite health risks.
