Source on the re-write of the name controversy is Bill James's excellent sketch biography of him in The Baseball Book 1990. Ellsworth 20:14, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hall of Fame

Dick is widely considered to be one of the best players not in the Hall of Fame. There should be some mention of this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.192.53.216 (talkcontribs) .

[edit] Sources and blp

Thsi article contains a ton of negative info without citing sources, and thereofre violates WP:BLP. Please clean it up. Thanks. Marcus Taylor 21:46, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

I have to agree. It's rare if not impossible to find ex-teammates of Allen who are critical of his clubhouse presence. That should count more than the negative media coverage and uninformed fan opinions that seem to be the (uncited) sources for much of this very biased Wikipedia article. See http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/rwas/index.php?category=11&id=2065 for reliable quotes from former managers and teammates who directly contradict many of the Wiki article's negative assertions.
