[edit] No mention of competition
There is no mention of competitors in this article. I don't shop at sporting goods stores, so I can't think of any national chains that compete with Dick's, but they should be worth a mention here. Gilliamjf 12:05, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
This article claims Dick's is the largest full-line sporting goods store in the world, but the Sports Authority article claims that the Sports Authority (which has more stores) is the largest in the nation. One of these claims is false. 153.42.34.130 00:31, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
There are currently no competitors to DSG except for the smaller regional chains, none of which currently appear on Wikipedia, therefore I'm removing the POV dispute. TomHawkey 12:15, 19 December 2005 (UTC -5)
- Really? What about The Sports Authority? SushiGeek 21:14, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
There's Sports Authority and Gander Mountain. -newkai | talk | contribs 19:33, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Binghamton store
Someone should get a photo of Store #1 in Binghamton... I'm stuck in Europe for awhile... Maybe I will someday. -newkai | talk | contribs 19:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dickslogo2004.jpg
Image:Dickslogo2004.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:24, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Galyan's Redirect
I think that the Galyan's redirect should be removed, and a separate article written discussing the history of Galyan's and the buyout by Dick's. I came to this page looking for information on Galyan's, not Dick's. 161.225.129.111 14:07, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, somebody has to decide to write it first. Lambertman 22:07, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
