Talk:Dic Ann's Hamburgers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

4:38pm - I took out some of the wording which I consider slightly more suited for advertisement rather than an encyclopedia article... "despite its reputation" is inflammatory not accurate nor suitable for an encyclopedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.80.97.66 (talk) 20:39, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

I included this article because the restaurant is an institution in Montreal, having ten stores and having been founded over 50 years ago. Admittedly there are surprisingly few online references to it, which is what motivated me to put it on Wikipedia. Admittedly the Mirror review is old but it is a notable local publication.

Still, the two following articles at least hint at its cult status (please plug them into an online translator if you can't read French):

Veronique Cloutier, a very famous TV star in Quebec describes her love of Dic Ann's:

Imagine…"

Former Cy Young Award winner Éric Gagné also takes the time to visit Dic Ann's on trips to Montreal:

I doubt such references could be found about restaurants that were truly not notable. Also a Google search will find many online chat-board and restaurant site mentions.
