what is the origin????? nobody knows!frf What the fu*ck
Alot of this needs to be deleted. For example "A recent amendment to the rules allows moments to be dibsed. This rule is somewhat complicated and probably should not be explained in text. This is also improved with alcohol."
I think the whole business about "Dibs game" in reference to people, esp. Jon BonJovi, is a joke, no?

Actually I've seen a lot of people play the 'Dibs game', but honestly now, that is not necessary to the encyclopaedic nature of the article. Seph 02:50, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

From what I read in this entry I still haven't got a clue what 'dibs' is! --Grannybuttons 19:09, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
It could also be noted that in dublin, many people use the word: "nigs" (not in any deliberate reference to dark-skinned people) instead of "not it" to grant immunity from something, like a chore or some other bothersome task.

"ownership of a community resource, such as a chair or any woman" - this definitely needs to be rephrased or deleted. Women are not a community resource. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.168.127.37 (talk) 09:56, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] range
The first line says "used primarily in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Ireland", but a later passage says a similar convention exists in Australia and New Zealand. Is there any reason not to change the first line to "in English-speaking countries"? —Tamfang (talk) 17:53, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
