Diane Martinez

Diane Janet Martinez (born c. 1952 in East Los Angeles, California) ( not to be confused witb Diane J Martinez, another politician) is an American politician who served in the California State Assembly from 1992 until 1998. A resident of Monterey Park, in 1998 she ran for state Insurance Commissioner. In the primary election, she beat Hal Brown, a Marin County Supervisor and brother of current California Attorney General and former Governor Jerry Brown. However, she lost the general election to incumbent Chuck Quackenbush.
Martinez is the daughter of former Congressman Matthew G. Martinez.
