Diane Bish

The Kansas born organist and composer Diane Bish is an internationally known artist. She is well known for her innovative television series The Joy of Music, as well as for her unique sense of fashion. She has recorded some 400 television episodes in her PBS series The Joy of Music on many of the world's most significant pipe organs. She is also well known for her unique fashion sense, including brightly colored gowns and her trademark gold shoes.

Miss Bish graduated from Wichita High School East in 1959. She had played on the 1925 Austin Organ installed in the school auditorium.[1]

Diane Bish was a student of Dorothy Addy, Mildred Andrews, Nadia Boulanger, Gustav Leonhardt, and Marie-Claire Alain.

In addition, she served as organist to Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she designed the 117 rank Ruffatti organ in the sanctuary.

Miss Bish currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana.
