Diane Benussi is a regular speaker and writer on divorce.
She was born and brought up in Cornwall. After gaining a law degree, she went into general practice. She moved to Birmingham in 1981 and spent 11 years as a partner with Benussi & Powell before setting up a niche matrimonial and family law firm, Benussi & Co [1], in 1993. The practice relocated from Sutton Coldfield to Birmingham city centre three years later.
Diane set up the West Midlands branch of the Solicitors Family Law Association, which she chaired for three years, and is a recent past president of the Birmingham Law Society. She is the current chairman of the lobby group Birmingham Forward [2].
Her articles have appeared in a variety of publications, including the Financial Times. She has also written a self-help book entitled How NOT To Get Divorced After Christmas. Diane writes a weekly blog[3] on the emotional impact of divorce and family issues.
Diane, who is herself divorced, has two grown-up children and one granddaughter and lives in Birmingham.
