Dhusar

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dhusar (also known as Bhargava) is a Brahmin community that originated from the Dhosi hill region near Rewari.

They are considered to be a division of the Gaur Brhamins[1]. They are divided into seven gotras. They are often merchants[2].

Hemu Vikramaditya, who was defeated by Akbar's forces, was a Dhusar.

Dhusars are devout Hindus. In the past some of them have also followed Jainism[3].
