[edit] Brief history
The band was founded by the bass guitarist Milan Hlavsa and the poet Pavel Zajíček in the early 70's in Prague, former Czechoslovakia. Later, Hlavsa, who played in a more renowned band, The Plastic People of the Universe, left DG 307. A few years later he was jailed due to his participation in artistic rebellion, a serious crime in Czechoslovakia by then.
Pavel Zajíček had to escape Czechoslovakia for having committed the same crime as Hlavsa. After fleeing from the persecution of the Czechoslovakian government he lived in Gothenburg, Sweden, and later New York. The velvet revolution in 1989 made it possible for him to return. He restored the band and became the lead reciter. Today, the band is -together with The Plastic People of the Universe and Psí vojáci- a legend of Prague underground culture still pursuing its own, inimitable style.
