-->A more detailed Answer : Hello Directorstratten, and yes, as you found out the DT is still partly owned by the Bundesrepublik. But the share of of state is largely decreasing in the past few years due to 1. The European Union and its competition rules 2. The financial problems the BRD currently faces(the national debt has been increasing for the past few years=

So, nowadays, the BRD has sold everything except 15,4% of its shares, and the state-owned Bank KFW(Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau - Reconstruction Loan Corporation) ownes currently 22,4%, but will sell these shares to investors(not speculators, but common people) via the stock exchange.

By the way, the last one of these sellings took effect at July 2005, when the state announced that it will sell 7,3 % of the Deutsche Telekom shares to KFW.

[edit] Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group

DTAG (NYSE ticker symbol DTG) is also the name of the US-based company "Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group," which owns Dollar Rent-A-Car and Thrifty Car Rental. I'm considering writing an article on the company and am wondering how to title it as DTAG currently redirects to this article (Deutsche Telekom).

Should I:

1. Create a disambig page listing both and title the new article "Dollar_Thrifty_Automotive_Group" and/or DTG
2. Create the DTAG article and offer a note that "DTAG can refer to Deutsche Telekom AG"
3. Put a note on the Deutsche Telekom page that "DTAG can refer to "Dollar_Thrifty_Automotive Group"? (Probably not good as most people won't come to it via the DTAG redirect.)

I'm not a super-experienced Wikipedian, so I thought I'd solicit comment before Plunging Forward. - cluth 11:46, September 12, 2005 (UTC)

In my opinion, option #1is the right thing to do. Naming the new article Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group conforms to the Wikipedia naming conventions and users entering the abbreviation DTAG might be looking for any of the two companies (or something entirely different). -- Marcika 17:04, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
