I'm a Detroit-area kid, exactly the same age as Deniz Tek, and went to many of the same MC5, Stooges, Sonics Rendezvous shows as he did, and I never heard of Lightning War or Trygemany. Is there a source for those two as influential on DT? From interviews, he cites the MC5, especially Fred "Sonic" Smith, whose guitar he still plays, the Stooges, The Doors, Blue Oyster Cult and Motown as major inluences.
