Author
Dansk:
English:
The artist's name is not indicated in the corresponding article or elsewhere in the publication. However, as the number of contemporary illustrators of heraldry is very limited, and the same artist illustrated the corresponding article about the Danish arms in 1916 (text by Anders Thiset who died 1917) the only likely candidate for a match to the initials K.J. is Karl Georg Jensen (1851-1933) who was one of the main suppliers of illustrations for Thiset's Magnum Opus Danske Kongelige Sigiller 1085-1559 at the same time as Thiset wrote the similar article about the Danish arms. Karl Georg Jensen was furthermore better known as Karl Jensen. See also image:Det danske rigsvåben - Salmonsen 1916.jpg I consequently believe in good faith that this artist must have died more than 70 years ago.
