Detroit City (I Wanna Go Home) is a country hit song, written by Country Music Hall-of-Fame songwriter Danny Dill. Country singer Bobby Bare decided to record the song, and it became a big hit for him on the US country and pop singles charts in 1963, as well as a number one pop hit in Norway. In 1967 the song was covered by Tom Jones, who had a UK Top 10 hit with it.
