Desolation Yes are a Scottish/English popular music band, formed in Glasgow, in 2004. They are currently with Neon Tetra Records and their debut double A-side single Templeton/Instinct was released on 10th December 2007.

The bands line up has changed over the last few years but has recently settled on Paul Elliott: vocals/programming, Gerry Neary: keyboards/synth, Raven Taylor: bass guitar/vocals/violin and Ally McKechnie: guitar. Paul and Gerry, who are both members of the original line up which included Ross Mcnicol: guitar and Bob Greer: drums, come from East Kilbride, a new town 10 miles south of Glasgow. Ally and Raven, who joined the band in late 2006, are from Muirhead and Newcastle-upon-Tyne respectively.

Because of the use of synth, samplers and drum machines the bands sound can be defined as a genre of electronic music though which one is open to interpretation. They have been described as industrial, futurepop, ebm, techno, dance/rock and synthpop. The band themselves have declared a love of all genres of music and describe their music simply as experimental pop.

The band have had extensive airplay on XFM, Radio One and a host of positive reports in various newspapers and magazines, and have been hailed as 'Glasgow's next big thing'.
