Desi Wilson

Desi Wilson (born May 9, 1969) was a first baseman for the San Francisco Giants in the 1996 season. He was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 1991 Amateur Draft, and traded to the Giants along with Rich Aurilia for pitcher John Burkett.

Wilson played in the minor leagues up until 2002, but has since gone to independent leagues. Overall, he has hit .312 in his minor league career. His best year in the minors was 1997, but he received his call-up in 1996. In 2005 Desi had a 30 game hitting streak, setting a Golden Baseball League record.

He played just one season on the 1996 Giants, managing a .271 batting average over 41 games.
