"O'Leary has made it clear that he does not regard himself as English or British, but as Irish, and holds traditional Irish affinities" but has hosted "SAS: Are you tough enough?" and "SAS Jungle: Are you tough enough?" Not very traditional Irish affinities.

On the recent Channel 4 presenter links, he said, of which famous person he would most like to be, Michael Collins. It seems that he is no student of history, or else is more than happy to drop his pseudo-trendy republican facade when pound notes are on offer.

The bit were it says something about his cousins and hosting a DVD is really badly written.

Also, he hosted a BBC show about young sporting talent but I really can't remember what it was called.

[edit] Nationality

Despite what he wants to consider his nationality, it is legally British. TomGreen 13:07, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Mr. O'Leary is the holder of an Irish passport. That's legal enough for me.Belacqua Shuah 21:30, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

His favourite magazine is Attitude[citation needed], posing for the magazine front cover in January 2006.[citation needed] I'm not sure how we can decide his favourite magazine is attitude from the fact he has posed for them. Anyone any idea where this came from? Lukeyboyuk 22:29, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Wherever it came from it's clearly not suitable material for an encylopedia article, so I'm going to remove it. Fanzine yes, encyclopedia no. Too much of this article reads like it was written by a star-struck fan without a proper grasp of the English language. In my opinion, of course. --Malleus Fatuarum 12:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

IT REALLY ANNOYS ME when all these famous personalities claim themselves to be 'Irish'. If you are so obsessed with your Irish heritage, MOVE BACK THERE THEN! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.206.187.24 (talk) 11:02, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I'm going to include in the opening para the fact that O'Leary was born in England. What is clear and certain is the fact that he is an Irish citizen. Passport, citizenship, quid pro quo.Belacqua Shuah 20:09, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

and not fegetting his irish heritage. Pathfinder2006 (talk) 16:41, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] BBC Radio Essex???

There are several problems here. The article says O'Leary was a "DJ at BBC Radio Essex". Firstly, there is no radio station of that name. It could be either BBC Essex or Essex Radio - which is it? Secondly, if it's meant to be BBC Essex, I have some knowledge of the station and do not believe he was ever a DJ there. He may have done work experience or helped behind the scenes, and maybe appeared on air occasionally, but I think we need a definite reference/citation. In the absence of such after a reasonable period, I think this reference should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.43.102 (talk) 01:06, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

It is now three weeks since the last statement, and nobody has clarified or provided reference/citation. I vote therefore that reference to 'BBC Radio Essex' be removed from the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.43.102 (talk) 00:43, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
