Derrick Zwickl

Dr. Derrick Zwickl is a notable researcher in the field of phylogenetics. He is the author of GARLI a freely available, software package that infers phylogenetic trees for molecular sequences using the maximum likelihood criterion. GARLI is one of the fastest programs available for this problem.

He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at NESCent (the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center) in Durham, North Carolina. He received his PhD from the University of Texas, where he worked with David Hillis.
